MÁDARA was founded in 2006 by Lotte Tisenkopfa-Iltnere, and is based in Riga, Latvia.
"As a child, I spent my summers exploring Latvian nature, picking wild herbs and listening to grandmother’s stories about their healing properties".
Over thousands of years, the harsh Northern climate has nurtured plants with extraordinary properties. Those deep roots, bitter leaves and rough bark have healed wounds and saved lives. Now, in the 21st century, Madara scrutinises legends about healing Northern herbs under the penetrating gaze of doctors in the fierce light of scientific labs, creating skincare that meet the skin’s deepest needs.
Lotte’s fascination with nature’s treasures grew into a serious research interest. MÁDARA pioneered Northern ingredient innovations 15 years ago in partnership with biologists and dermatologists. From revitalising birch water to antioxidant-rich herbs and even mushrooms, Madara extracts their actives from natural sources to deliver the highest concentrations of essential nutrients that help improve skin condition.
All products are natural and organic certified, expert-developed and produced at our factory in Riga, Latvia. MÁDARA has earned recognition with an unconventional approach to natural beauty and eccentric actives.
