KEY INGREDIENTS
Pentapetide 5 is a Sea Anemone Peptide that is able to calm sensitive skin. This biomimetic peptide that is based on a sea anemone protein which calms sensitive skin and reduces skin irritation.
APHC1: a special protein in the sea anemone venom. The venom of the leathery sea anemone consists of proteins and peptides that interact with a variety of cellular targets. Scientists have recently discovered an interesting small protein called APHC1 in the venomof the leathery sea anemone that represented the first polypeptide inhibitor of the TRPV1 receptor.
Sensitive skin is often characterized by an overactivity of the TRPV1 pain receptor. The result is skin that can react strongly to harmless environmental stimuli with itching or even burning and redness. Therefore, an inhibitor of the TRPV1 receptor helps to calm overreactive skin.
In in vitro assay showed that pentapeptide-5:
- reduced the activation of the TRPV1 pain receptor
- inhibited TRPV1 in a better manner than the full-length sea anemone protein.
Meanwhile, in clinical studies, pentapeptide-5:
- reduced the electrical current perception threshold of the skin, which is an indicator for skin reactivity
- decreased skin sensitivity by reducing the response to skin irritation.
Marshmallow Roots's active ingredient mucilage found in the gum of the plant is a form of botanical hyaluronic acid that firm's skin and increases moisture levels.
Licorice Root Extract inhibits the production of tyrosinase, in turn inhibiting the production of dark spots. Contains an anti-inflammatory flavonoid (antioxidant-rich compound) that decreases oxygen species, which both age skin and discolor the skin.
Babassu is a palm tree that is native to the northeastern part of Brazil. Filled with antioxidants, such as Vitamin E and phytosterols. These antioxidants can combat inflammation effectively and act as moisturizing super emollients to the epidermis.
Strawberry Seed Oil has an impressive polyunsaturated fatty acid composition that includes an composition of alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 essential fatty acid. Thanks to its high antioxidant content, strawberry seed oil is stable due to a heightened level of antioxidants and will protect against free radicals and delay the photo aging process.
Aloe contains a wealth of vitamins A, C, E. Contains natural salicylic acid and enzymes to gently slough off dead skin cells, while polysaccharide sugars stimulate collagen.
Ceramides are lipids found in high concentrations in the uppermost layers of the skin. They help to reinforce the skin's barrier and increase hydration.
Lupine Amino Acids contain a full range of amino acids from lupine seeds and are essential for keeping skin hydrated.
